Summer Programs

Learn to Row
MRC offers a learn to row program for students new to rowing. It is a week long introduction to the sport of rowing and is open to area students entering 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grades in the fall. There are two of these week long programs offered in the summer. You can choose to do one or both weeks of rowing.  Please see the registration page or contact us at mrc.commodore@gmail.com for dates and times.  If the program is not listed on the registration page it is likely full and no longer taking new applications or has not posted yet.

Pre-Novice Development Camp                                                                                                                                                                                        The Pre-Novice Development camp is for athletes who have taken a learn to row camp previously who want to grow and learn more in the sport of rowing.  It is ideal for rising 9th and 10th grade students who plan to join the High School team in the Fall as a Novice rower.  (This program is not a pre-requisite for rowing as a HIgh School Novice).  Please see the registration page or contact us at mrc.commodore@gmail.com for dates and times.  If the program is not listed on the registration page it is likely full and no longer taking new applications or has not posted yet.

MRC Development Camp

The MRC Development camp is an intense, 3-4 week rowing program for current MRC High School girls and boys.  The program is designed to improve an oarsman's skill and develop a better understanding of proper training, as well as enhance their connection to the sport of rowing.  The program will be punctuated with a competitive opportunity.  Please see the registration page or contact us at mrc.commodore@gmail.com for dates and times.  If the program is not listed on the registration page it is likely full and no longer taking new applications or has not posted yet.

The spring season is the primary program offered through MRC.  The season runs from December (starting with an indoor Erg Season) through the end of May and perhaps into June if your athlete is fortunate enough to qualify for USRowing Youth Nationals.  Students from Moorestown High School, whether new to rowing or returning rowers, are eligible to participate in the season.  All athletes must start the season in the erg room at the start of the season for proper conditioning and team bonding.  Indoor training begins in December in the Erg Room with the move to the river when weather allows (typically March).  Non-medal races and medal regattas (races) begin in mid-March.  Please see the registration page or contact us at mrc.commodore@gmail.com for dates and times.  If the program is not listed on the registration page it has likely not posted yet.
