Winter/Spring 2021 Middle School Rowing Program

We're excited to announce that we will be offering a program for our Middle School rowers this winter/spring!  The details of the program are as follows:

  • All William Allen Middle School students and 7th and 8th grade home-schooled students in the Moorestown school district are eligible for the program.
  • The program will be co-ed and training will be conducted either at the Moorestown Community House when indoors, or the Camden County Boathouse when on-the-water.
  • 6 indoor training sessions at the Moorestown Community House on Saturday mornings beginning January 23rd and running through February 27th.  Indoor training will consist of a combination of erg training and general fitness/conditioning work.
  • 7 on-water training sessions on Saturday mornings beginning March 6th (weather permitting) and running through April 17th.
  • 2-3 subsequent on-water training sessions through mid-May.  The dates and times for these sessions will be dictated by the novice and varsity schedules during this time period.
  • The cost for the program is $500 with payment due at the time of registration.
  • IMPORTANT: due to COVID driven capacity limitations at the Community House, the program will be capped at 20 athletes.  Once we reach 20 registered athletes, we will have a waiting list in case we can increase our capacity at the Community House or we have cancellations.

The focus of the program will be teaching proper rowing technique and fostering a love of the sport to encourage the participants to continue rowing in the high school program.  Rowers will not be racing outside of practice during this program.
