It's time to get back on the water!
We're excited to offer three 1-week sessions of instructional sweep rowing for junior level boys and girls designed to get our rowers back out on the water after the long pandemic shutdown. Our coaches will be looking to maximize the time on-the-water to re-familiarize our rowers with being on the water and will provide technical instruction as necessary to help each rower improve. Coxswains likewise will be pushed and expected to improve their communication, organization, and awareness on and off the water. This camp is open to rowers and coxswains who have completed at least one fall or winter/spring season with MRC including the partial winter/spring 2020 season.
The camp will be led by Chris DeYoung. Chris has coached crews to medal finishes at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, NJ States Championships, City Championships, and SRAA National Championships. He led his crews at Rutgers to multiple dual race victories and a 1st place finish at the Knecht Cup. As an Assistant at the University of Michigan, Chris helped to coach several crews that had top place finishes at the Dad Vail Regatta and IRA National Championships.
Please note that MRC will be strictly adhering to all COVID-19 requirements in place at the Camden County Boathouse. The safety or our athletes and coaches is our first priority. Detailed instructions on arrival and departure from the camp, handling of equipment and mask requirements will be provided prior to the commencement of the camp.
